Foilia is a radio-controlled scale AC75 that flies on foils, born as a degree thesis and headed for the 2027 America's Cup in Naples.
Foilia is a radio-controlled model of an AC75, the America's Cup boat: 1.4 m long and weighing about 7 kg, it lifts out of the water and flies on its foils. It was born as Edoardo Bocchini's Design degree thesis at Sapienza University of Rome, with OEngineering as scientific partner and thesis co-supervisor. 3D-printed hull, carbon-fibre appendages, on-board electronics for stabilisation and a georeferenced multiparameter probe to collect marine data. The goal: bringing it to the 2027 America's Cup in Naples.
